05-Day course on "Investigation of Cyber Crime," sponsored by I4C commenced on 10-10-2023
Ministry of Home Affairs has set up a National Cybercrime Coordination Centre I4C to create effective framework and ecosystem for prevention, detection, investigation and prosecution of cybercrime in a comprehensive and coordinated manner. To meet the desire objective of I4C, MHA, New-Delhi, 05-day course on "Investigation of Cyber Crime," sponsored by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), commenced today at SKPA. A total of 26 officers, ranging in rank from SI to Dy.SsP, from various State Police and J&K Police, are actively participating in this training program.
The primary objective of this course is to enhance participant’s knowledge and skills in the investigation of cybercrime and cyber fraud cases. Over the course of five days, participants will gain insights into the implications of cybercrime, legal measures for countering it, and will acquire expertise in Cyber Forensics and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the investigation of cybercrime cases.
An inaugural function was organized at SKPA, where Sh. Garib Dass, IPS, ADGP, Director of Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur, presided as the chief guest. In his welcome address, Shri Garib Dass extended a warm welcome to all the participants. During his inaugural address, the Director of SKPA provided an overview of various aspects of cybercrime, including Cyber Bullying, Stalking, Online Job fraud, Phishing, Virus & Trojans, Crypto-Jacking etc. He emphasized the increasing frequency of cybercrime in the virtual space and highlighted the need to equip law enforcement officials with the necessary skills to effectively investigate cybercrimes.
The training program will feature eminent guest speakers from IIT Jammu, GCET Jammu, professionals from the Cyber Police Station Jammu, Shri Nayeem Abass Hamdani, a Cyber Consultant, and faculty members from SKPA who will deliver lectures to the participants. Additionally, hands-on sessions have been arranged to provide participants with practical experience in cybercrime investigation techniques.
The inaugural session was also attended by Shri Rajinder Kumar Gupta, IPS, SSP, Dy. Director (Indoor), Shri Sheikh Zulfkar Azad, JKPS, SSP, Dy. Director (Admn) and faculty of SKPA. The Course is being coordinated by Inspr. Rohit Gupta, assisted by HC Randip Singh.
